Top Officials at CA ISO Resign

LCG, June 4, 2004--The chief executive of the California Independent System Operator resigned this week, as did Elena Schmid, who served as the vice president of corporate and strategic development.

Terry Winter was formerly an executive at San Diego Gas & Electric Co., and experienced criticism when he sought a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ruling to abandon wholesale price caps, so that more suppliers would bid to sell electricity to California. Winter said that he was under no pressure from Gov. Schwarzenegger or the Board of Governors of the ISO to resign.
